We had a great weekend. It was peaceful, relaxing, and quiet. You don't really appreciate quiet until you don't get any for a long time! No one asking for anything. No one fighting. Of course this also meant no musical laughter that only children can provide but we survived. We dropped them off with my Dad on Friday night. He took them, and our van, down to Las Cruces to see Diane. We took his PT Cruiser and went to eat at Landry's Seafood and afterward we went to see Dark Knight. Great movie, fantastic, but incredibly twisted. It is somehow rated PG-13 but I'm not sure how. We let the kids watch the Spiderman movies and a few other pg-13 things but this is not one that they will watch unti they are over 13. It is very violent and disturbing, in my opinion. Just a warning.
The springs in the morning are breathtaking, it is also the best time to go. There are very few people and it is cold out. The mist coming off of everything is peaceful. There is nothing like it. We had an incredible time. I really reccomend it. If you can, go during the week when it is less crowded. By Sunday morning it was much less populated. When we got there Saturday it was busy and noisey. Saturday night was neat, it rained and was cool, perfect for soaking and relaxing. We spent most of our time in the Kid-free zone. They play a movie at the pool for kids in the evening too, they project it. I don't think we would take ours though, not until they are old enough to not be constantly supervised. It isn't for small children. We will definately be going back. It was the perfect mini-vacation and we desperately needed it. I am so sad he has to go back to work tomorrow :( Back to reality and getting everything ready for school to start on Aug. 11th.
